The Author
Wildflower in the Wreckage began as a deeply personal endeavor for K. A. Jessie. For years, she grappled with unresolved trauma despite her persistent efforts to seek healing. This unresolved pain manifested in various aspects of her life, affecting her health and straining relationships. With her intuition leading, she set out on a project she now calls Project 77. This project started as a means of finding healing through writing. Wildflower in the Wreckage is a product of this project.

Wildflower in the Wreckage goes beyond storytelling. Mixed into the pages of what appears to be a fictional world, K. A. Jessie weaves in pieces of her own trauma like a puzzle to be decoded. From the couch of the counseling room, her intentions were clear from day one of this blank canvas. She aimed to incorporate techniques her counselor introduced her to, both for her characters to work through and for herself. These techniques included internal family systems (parts work), trauma integration, the missing experience, and re-parenting the inner child. Crafted as it is, the reader will most likely have no idea of the internal work going on deep inside the author behind the scenes. Through the process of writing Wildflower in the Wreckage, K. A. Jessie has found a new kind of freedom and healing in her personal life that she struggled to find through conventional methods. She strongly believes beauty can come from ashes and that there is hope for anyone brave enough to walk toward healing.
